An experienced driver, Roland Bombeek founded Modern Car. His first regular clients are the British and Australian embassies.

1974
Modern Car undertakes its first missions for the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Palace.

1975
Modern Car takes care of the transport for the royal family and other personalities at the funeral of King Leopold III of Belgium.

1978
The first stretch Mercedes joins the fleet.

1980
Modern Car purchases its first Mercedes S.

1982
Modern Car purchases its first 8-seater minibus.

1984
A prestigious Rolls Royce Shadow I joins the Modern Car fleet.

1984
Modern Car takes care of the transport for the royal family and other personalities at the wedding of Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz of Belgium.

1984
The visit of President Reagan marks the start of Modern Car's work with the Embassy of the United States. Since then, Modern Car has been part of the transport arrangements for US Presidents and high level members of the government visiting Belgium and other.

Modern Car takes over Auto Confort and the service contract of Carey International Limousine.

1988
Modern Car acquires its first 20-seater luxury coach.

1993
Modern Car handles transport for the royal family and other personalities at the funeral of King Baudouin.

1993
Modern Car purchases a 34-seater luxury coach.

1996
Modern Car moves from Laeken to its new and bigger headquarters in Jette.

1999
Modern Car provides vehicles for the wedding of Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde of Belgium.

2000
Modern Car secures its biggest one-off contract, for Euro 2000.

2002
Stéphane Bombeek takes over the management of Modern Car.

2003
Modern Car provides vehicles for the wedding of Prince Laurent and Princess Claire of Belgium.

2005
Modern Car adds two Audi A8s to its fleet.

2006
Mr Roland Bombeek and Mrs Bombeek hand the day-to-day management of the firm over to their son Stéphane.

2007
Roland Bombeek is appointed Official Purveyor to the Court of Belgium.

2007
Stéphane Bombeek is granted, in turn, the title of Official Purveyor to the Court of Belgium.

2010
Modern Car becomes part of the international Tristar network.

2011
The first series 7 BMWs join the Modern Car fleet.

2013
Modern Car takes over AAAC Limousine services.
